Facilities Supervisor

CHL Systems is a custom equipment supplier that provides project management, engineering, design, manufacturing and installation services for a variety of industries including food, pharma and heavy industry to name a few.

We are currently seeking a Facilities Supervisor to join our innovative and dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong hands-on background in building construction and maintenance. This position will manage, supervise, and oversee all grounds maintenance, janitorial services and building renovation projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of all activities required to maintain the plant structures and facilities in a safe and proper condition
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program
  • Evaluate short and long-term needs in relation to major facility projects and property improvements
  • Plan, schedule, and direct a program for the maintenance, alteration, and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment
  • Conduct routine facility inspections
  • Oversee and follow up on all required inspections by township, state, and federal agencies
  • Oversee all janitorial and grounds maintenance functions and staff
  • Effectively supervise craft personnel to ensure all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively in accordance with company safety guidelines and local building code standards
  • Ensure department personnel are properly supervised, trained, and qualified to perform assignments
  • Administer coaching, mentoring and performance management, including initiation of disciplinary action, for assigned employees

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a hands-on construction role
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience planning and executing small and large projects
  • Able to build morale and team commitment to goals and objectives of the department
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and inspires the trust of others
  • Able to read and understand drawings and prints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, and/or crawl
