Lead Night Shift Service Technician

We are seeking an individual to lead the activities of the service team engaged in installation, repair, welding and fabrication of machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment. Primary individual is responsible for the 2nd shift service technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing and coordinating plans for repair/installation of new equipment and/or machinery.
  • Leads processes such as fabricating, welding, mechanical assembly, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and/or repair.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as drive motors and gearboxes, belt and screw conveyors, and platforms.
  • Communicate with Customer and Project Manager throughout project and help resolve changes that affect scope, schedule, cost or risk.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to engineering prints, drawing specifications and CHL standards.
  • Provide communication and performance feedback to work  crew, as well as supervisors/management.
  • Proposes changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Recommends measure to improve production methods, equipment performance & quality of product.
  • Ensures all safety policies are followed at all times.  Identify possible safety hazards and assist in developing a plan to minimize risks.
  • Visits sites to evaluate projects and/or assist sales with estimates.
  • Other responsibilities, as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); and a minimum of 5 years of experience or training.
  • Extensive mechanical/experience machinery experience with regard to moving, repairing installing and maintaining.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and have a strong mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Familiar with manufacturing and fabrication. Welding background preferred, however not necessary.  Working knowledge helpful.
  • Some exposure to AutoCAD, drafting or drawing background.
  • Good decision making skills; prior supervisory experience a plus.
  • Ability  to manage time effectively meeting deadlines and changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Promote a team-oriented environment and contributes to the team through strong leadership skills.
  • Develop on-going customer relationships.
